Clinical Supervisor II


This is a Contract position in Torrance, CA posted November 16, 2020.


Clinical Oversight
* Responsible for the direct clinical and administrative supervision of up to six (6) post-master’s unlicensed clinician Associates.
* Provide each supervisee with weekly group and individual (or triadic) clinical supervision.
* Monitor and evaluate supervisees’ clinical skills and decision making with assessment, diagnosis and treatment.
* Ensure the creation, development, implementation and review of clients’ individualized mental health treatment plan.
* Review and approve supervisees’ progress notes, assessments, care plans and other clinical documentation for completeness and accuracy, returning for corrections as needed.
* Ensure supervisees’ documentation meets DMH and Medi-Cal/EPSDT requirements and is submitted within agency mandated timelines.
* Ensure supervisees’ compliance with laws and regulations governing the practice of clinical social work or marriage and family therapy.
* Evaluate and respond to supervisees’ performance with timely feedback, annual evaluation, and disciplinary action(s), as needed.
* Ensure supervisees meet agency productivity requirements.
* Assist with recruitment, hiring and onboarding of new Associates.
* Assume primary, hands-on role of training new Associates.
* Provide coverage and backup for clinicians and colleagues as needed, including rotational on-call after hours crisis support.
* During extended absence of an Associate, cover their clinical responsibilities.
* Support supervisees in their progress to licensure with timely and accurate certification of weekly hours of experience, required supervisory plan, and evaluation of skills. * Other duties as assigned.

Supervisor Responsibility
This position involves direct supervision of the Associate(s) and possibly Case Manager(s).

* Licensed in California as an LCSW for minimum of two (2) years (LMFT may be considered).
* Minimum two (2) years recent experience supervising ACSWs or AMFTs in community mental health setting.
* Eligible to provide clinical supervision to ACSWs and AMFTs per Board of Behavioral Sciences standards; supervision training requirements met.
* Current knowledge of LA County DMH documentation and Medi-Cal/ EPSDT.
* Training/experience in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
* Familiarity with (preferably certification in) MAP – Managing and Adapting Practices.
* Demonstrated awareness of and sensitivity to the unique needs of a culturally diverse population.
* Advanced knowledge and skills in community-based mental health and trauma informed care.
* Highly effective written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong organizational and management skills.
* Experience with an EHR, preferably Exym.

* Clinical experience with foster youth/ child welfare involved populations
* Experience providing field-based mental health services, in-home and/or school
* Program implementation experience
* Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
* Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
