Principal Embedded Software Engineer

We are looking for you to join our Space Program Software Engineering team as an Sr Principal Embedded Software Engineer based out of El Segundo, California. This position is eligible for relocation assistance.

Our Space Programs lead the industry in demonstrating the speed and agility required for next generation responsive space missions. As a Sr Principal Software Engineer, you will apply technical principles, theories, and concepts associated with software development and design for Object Oriented systems. Responsibilities include requirements management/development, and preliminary design.

Additional responsibilities include: software development of data processing systems, and unit and module software test activities. The candidate must be a self-starter, have the ability to work independently, and the ability to manage personal workload to meet assigned deadlines. The candidate should have experience successfully working in an Agile collaborative environment. The candidate will be involved with the planning, conduct, and coordination of software designs, software architecture, and documentation.

Clearance Requirement: Must be a US Citizens with a current /active Secret clearance.

Required Experience, Knowledge, and/or Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Science, Mathematics, Physics, or related STEM field required.
  • Minimum 10+ years of related technical individual contributor experience in large team software engineering development.
  • Experience with Object Oriented C++ and real-time data processing.
  • Experience performing analysis using MATLAB/Simulink or similar platform.
  • Experience with software integration and test.
  • Understanding of software development best practices and processes.
  • Experience with Service-Oriented Architectures (SOA) and Publish-Subscribe models.
  • Experience with development of CONOPs, System Architecture, Requirements, and Use Cases.
  • Experience with software test activities including developing software integration and test plans for large scale systems.
  • Experience presenting to and interfacing with both internal and external customers.
  • Active/Current Secret or higher clearance required from day one of start date.

Desired Experience, Knowledge, and/or Skills:

  • Experience with Model Based Software Development.
  • Experience with Agile-Scrum Methodology.
  • Experience with tools such as Jenkins, Coverity, GoogleTest, Docker, and Artifactory.
  • Knowledge of MS Office or other presentation tools.
  • Experience in Command and Control Software
  • Experience in MATLAB algorithm to C++ embedded development
Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or related STEM field required. M.S. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or related STEM field preferred.

This position requires either a U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization.
