Incumbent provides Family Law Facilitator/Self-Help services for Tuolumne Superior Court and Calaveras Superior Court.

This is a full-time shared position with a rotating weekly work schedule between the courts.

Incumbent provides family law facilitator services mandated by California Family Code, and legal services for self-represented litigants, but does not legally represent persons receiving services.

Under general administrative direction, this professional level and At Will position provides legal information and legal assistance to self-represented litigants in a variety of legal matters.

The primary responsibility of the incumbent is to provide facilitator services mandated by California Family Code 10000 et seq., which includes the development, planning, implementation, and administration of the Family Law Facilitator program providing legal services to litigants not represented by counsel.

The incumbent also provides legal services to the Self-Help Center for self-representative litigants.

The legal services provided by this position do not include legal representation.

This is a shared position with our partner court, Calaveras County Superior Court (Calaveras).

The person holding this position will be a court employee and, therefore, cannot practice law in the counties of Tuolumne County Superior Court (Tuolumne) and Calaveras.

This position is primarily funded through the AB1058 Family Law Facilitator grant and the Judicial Council of Californias Self-Help grant for service to self-represented litigants.

The incumbent will be supervised and directed by the Tuolumne Court Executive Officer for work performed for Tuolumne.

The incumbent will be supervised and directed by the Calaveras Court Executive Officer for work performed for Calaveras.
