It is a joint venture between Glanbia and The Greater Southwest Agency and provides ample opportunity for career growth and experience in a fast-paced, high-performing enterprise.Job SummaryProvides training support to Southwest Cheese Site management in the form of interviewing and testing new hires, new hire orientation, certification of employees, provide support for plant management and human resources, identify and implement process optimization projects, training ofnew hires and internal movements, writing and updating SOP’s.Essential Functions* Responsible for initial interviews and testing (if required) of potential candidates.* Model Southwest Cheese values, policies and procedures.* Oversee new hire orientation including informing them of safety and quality regulations.* Train new and recently promoted employees in a variety of areas as necessary.* Oversee certifications for forklifts and other manufacturing equipment.* Conduct audits to ensure employees are performing tasks according to standards operating procedures (SOP).* Demonstrate professionalism in verbal and written communication and in behavior.* Support management as necessary.* Provide support for performance improvement activities.* Maintain documentation of employee certifications and all information necessary for orientation, SOPs, etc.* Assist with employee audits and performance evaluations.* Utilizes GPS processes, driving zero losses and upholds the culture of Southwest Cheese non-negotiables.* Each employee shall comply with occupational safety and health standards and all rules, regulations, and orders issued pursuant to the Occupational Safety and Health Act which are applicable to his/her own actions and conduct.* Complies with all applicable food safety regulations and mandates (Safe Quality Foods, Food and Drug Admin, Pasteurized Milk Ordinance)Delivering on Glanbia’s Values:* “Showing Respect” – Research issues & incidents with internal teams, business partners and customers in a collaborative manner that includes professional, honest and transparent communication.* “Find a Better Way” – Work with internal and external teams to implement process improvements and/or procedural changes that eliminate non-value added activities and drive more business value.* “Winning Together” – Assist with training of new team members. Continually update knowledge of products, product changes, processes and services offered to deliver a dynamic customer experience.Additional Functions* Participate on committees and Company teams as assigned.* Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications* Requires a Bachelor’s degree and minimum of two year’s related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.* Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.* Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or government regulations.* Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and potential candidates.* Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.* Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.* Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.* Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.* Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, recording keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.* Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.* Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.* Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or the Safety Department.Typical Physical ActivityPhysical Demands* Regularly involves, talking or listening, sitting, and the use of hands and fingers.* Frequently involves reaching with hands and arms, standing and walking.* Occasionally involves crouching, stooping, kneeling and/or climbing or balancing.Physical Requirements* Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, and work with the fingers.* Involves light to moderate physical activity performing strenuous day activities of a primarily productive/technical nature.Typical Environmental Conditions* May be exposed to high noise levels (i.e. office equipment/production equipment).* May be exposed to environments where chemicals and chemical related dusts, fumes, mists are being used and/or emitted. PPE will be provided as necessary.* May be exposed to heat and/or cold, including outdoor environment.Travel Requirements*
