The Masters of Counseling Psychology (MCP) Program Coordinator works closely with the Program Manager to ensure the overall administrative coordination of the MCP program. This involves strategic coordination with Program Chairs and Coordinators for the five different concentrations in Integral Counseling Psychology (ICP), Somatic Psychotherapy (SOM), Drama Therapy (PDT), Expressive Arts Therapy (EXA), & Community Mental Health (CMH). The coordinator will play a key role in the administrative and organizational functions of the MCP Program, working under the supervision of the MCP Manager.


  • Works with the MCP manager to coordinate the onboarding of individual supervisors. This includes the collection and tracking of paperwork and payments for supervisors; in coordination with the MCP Field Placement Office and the five MCP Counseling Clinics.
  • Works with the MCP Manager on creating the Academic Year calendar and timelines incorporating the interrelated planning processes of the budget, program curriculum development, and the creation of the schedule of MCP core classes.
  • Creates initial room schedule each semester and also deals with a range of space-related issues throughout the year from problem solving emerging issues with the room schedule to creating, implementing, and interpreting policies to faculty, students, and staff related to room scheduling.
  • Takes, produces and distributes minutes at the SPPH Clinics, SPPH Chairs, and SPPH Program coordinators meetings.
  • Maintains and disseminates up to date Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS), Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT), and Licensed Professional Counseling (LPC) information to students, faculty, and Program Chairs in collaboration with the Field Placement Office.
  • Assists with processing of Program Certifications for students and alumni that are part of the BBS application for MFT intern and LPCC status and licensure
  • Assists with annual BBS review and submission of ”Program Identification” document that officially shows the BBS how each of the five concentrations of MCP are meeting the BBS educational requirements
  • Trains and supervises student workers and temporary workers in the MCP office.
  • Assists with maintaining and updating the MCP core website pages
  • Act as a key liaison between the MCP program and other departments such as Registration, Operations, the Scheduling Team, Admissions department, and MCP Field Placement.
  • Perform additional duties, as required.

Job Requirements:


  • Minimum of two years of administrative experience and a BA, or equivalent of experience and education.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Sound organizational and interpersonal skills to maintain an efficient program in an independent manner. Office management skills: oral and written communication, word processing, tech savvy.
  • Ability to interact with students, faculty, staff, and the outside community with diplomacy.
  • Ability to operate under pressure and assign priority to work needs coming from a number of individuals.
  • Personal interest in and alignment with CIIS values and vision.
  • Understanding of the graduate academic environment and confidentiality (Preferred)
  • Understanding of the MFT and LPCC licensing process (Preferred)

Salary commensurate with skills and experience.


This position is virtual with the expectation that occasional travel to campus will be required when the CIIS campus returns to in-person sessions.

Working Conditions — Duties are primarily performed in an office environment at a desk or computer terminal, typically, Monday through Friday.
