Essential Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks include the following; other duties may be assigned:

  1. Hires, trains and supervises Building Electricians
  2. Assures safety compliance
  3. Must be able to perform all job duties of an Electrician
  4. Evaluate electrical problems and decide on a plan of action for Electricians
  5. Orders materials and equipment and completes the necessary paper work. 
  6. Coordinates with other departments and electrical engineer to work as economically as possible
  7. Completes all projects in a timely manner. 
  8. Coordinates staff to ensure the highest standards of work. 
  9. Meets with inspectors.

Competencies and Job Requirements:

Required:

  1. Knowledge of how electrical systems work, understanding of National Electrical Code.
  2. Knowledge of Relay Logic and PLC based control systems.
  3. Industrial Electrical construction skills
  4. Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  5. Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications.
  6. Public Safety and Security– Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions.
  7. Customer and Personal Service– Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer sati Must be familiar with how electrical systems work.
  8. Ability to lead a team.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, talk, see, and hear. Must be capable of walking or standing 90% or more of a normal 8 hour work shift. Must be capable of frequently carrying, lifting. pushing or pulling up to 50lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perceptions and the ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions:

Indoor/Outdoor: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently be exposed to outside weather conditions.

Hazardous Materials/Noise: The noise level in the work place is usually moderate. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and operating machinery. They will be occasionally exposed to extreme hot/cold and wet conditions, fumes or airborne particles. Employee will be required to work on uneven and limited footing locations. Working surfaces can be loose or slippery as well.

  • Degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering

Preferred

  • Contractor’s License

Education
